1 yr Anniversary

What do you know, today is the one year anniversary of my full-time freelancing career! I remember it clearly, Obama had just made it into office, and I was quitting my day job a year ago and thinking to myself ,”What’s the point in getting another one of these. I should put my five years of art school to good use.” Sure it was scary at first, but it’s the only way you can find out if you can do it.
So time passed, and, surprisingly, there was enough demand to keep me from starving and living on the streets (or, getting another day job). The client list is ever growing, and when I don’t have any jobs on the table, I have tons of time to get working on my many personal projects.
Speaking of new clients, you can see the illo above in this week’s issue of Toronto’s EYE WEEKLY. It’s about claustrophobia, and like many of my other drawings, is full of drips and fatties. Enjoi, and here’s to the next year!
